PITTSBURGH, 1980: FAMILY OF EVE is a local group living in Steel City. According to Jeree studio owner Don Garvin, FOE was a tremendous local success in the 80’s, in fact the group still performs locally to this day in “the Burg”. When listening to this disc it is hard to imagine this group not having a national hit with either one of these tunes! Pure top shelf disco/R&B here, recorded at the same studio as Wet Cherry of “Play That Funky Music Whiteboy” fame. In fact, Nile Rodgers of Chic called the studio to scout for more local talent being recorded in this studio and Studio/Label owner Garvin forget to mention Family of Eve to him at that time. Who knows? Maybe history would’ve been a little different if this record found it’s way into the hands of N. Rodgers?
